Patti Smith concert on 17 Septembre 2012 at Salle Garnier

Patti Smith made the headlines last June with her new album release Banga. It is precisely this new opus that the singer will perform live in the very prestigious Salle Garnier at the Monte-Carlo Opera on 17 September.

Concert Patti Smith salle Garnier

Banga‘s poetic texts capture the dreams and thoughts of Patti Smith. They are the reflections of a complex world, a world where beauty and chaos reign. Recognised for her many talents including narration, Patti Smith offers us an album inspired by her rich human experience. The songs in Banga underline a desire to travel and a wish to explore.

Tom Verlaine, Jack Petruzzelli and Jackson and Jesse Paris – Patti Smith’s son and daughter – worked on making this album a reality.

During this unmissable concert, the singer will sing songs such as ‘Amerigo’ which transports us back in time to Amerigo Vespucci and the discovery of the New World in 1497, ‘Fuji–San’, a tribute to the Japanese people, earthquake victims, and the ballad ‘This Is The Girl’, in honour of Amy Winehouse.

There is no doubt that this concert will be remembered as the coming together of an artist overflowing with creativity and her responsive audience, appreciative of her sense of hope and humanism.
