International Month of Breast Cancer Awareness


casino-monte-carlo-GFOn October 6th 2011, on the terraces of the Café de Paris, the Monaco Cancer Charity Association will inaugurate Pink Ribbon Monaco, an organization providing assistance for women suffering from breast cancer, and the Harlekin Club, a charity in aid of sick children.
Dr Picaud and Dr Garnier, respectively heads of the Pediatrics and Oncology units at the Princess Grace of Monaco Hospital Center, will give the keynote speeches, to be followed by a cocktail party.

After 6.30 p.m., the Casino de Monte-Carlo will be lit up in pink,  in a gesture of support for victims of breast cancer and to raise awareness of the disease. With this colorful initiative, Monaco will join the ranks of the 200 largest cities in the world and over 40 countries who are joining forces to illuminate their most well-known monuments in October, the International Month of Breast Cancer Awareness.
With the backing of the Monaco Government and the Société des Bains de Mer, October 6th 2011 will mark the inauguration of these highly active charity organizations and their efforts to combat cancer.
